Representing District 6, which includes portions of Greenville County, Mike Fair has been a positive, conservative voice in the South Carolina General Assembly. Mike has had a proven record of defending education, fighting to cut taxes and government spending, traditional values, and working to reform the immigration system. He believes in the values of hard-work, individual responsibility, faith in God, love of family, and service to others. Throughout his life, Mike Fair says that the number one shaping factor has been his faith in God, which began at an early age. His faith affects the choices he makes in his personal life and at the Statehouse.

Mike was also appointed to the board of South Carolina First Steps, which works to help improve school readiness for the state’s youngest learners. Mike Fair has also been a leader in the fight for immigration reform, prison reform, and early childhood services for South Carolina’s underprivileged.
Committed to Community
As a full-time public servant, he takes great pride in looking out for the needs of the people in his district. Mike Fair has been a life-long resident of the Greenville area and still lives in the same community where he was raised. Even today, he lives on the same street as his mother and mother-in-law and he likes to joke that his family “makes up its own prescient.”
In his personal life, Mike Fair is a man who places the highest value on faith and family. He is an active member of Faith Baptist Church where he serves as a deacon. Mike is married to his high-school sweetheart, Judy. The couple has one grown daughter. Today, Mike and Judy spend much of their spare time investing in the lives of their three grandchildren and helping with their many school and extracurricular activities.
Education is Key
Mike Fair graduated from Greenville’s Parker High School, where he served as president of the student body. During his early years, Mike was an all-around athlete playing baseball, basketball, and football. Later, during his time at the University of South Carolina, Mike played quarterback on the Gamecock football team.
For his proven, conservative leadership, Fair has been honored by the S.C. Citizens for Life and the S.C. Association of Counties with their Legislator of the Year Awards.
